Baby Shower BlissJuly 06, 2009Just a few weeks ago we were host home to the cutest shower for N. She is expecting a boy and it was so much fun to do a boy themed shower for a change. Some of the girls and I cut various sizes of Polka Dots out of scrap book paper and hung those around. It made for a more modern look. Here is a bit of a "curtain" we created using thread to hang some of our cute dots.
The guest of honor's Mother brought the cake all the way from Houston! N loves a bakery there and this cake was certainly worth the trouble. It was just wonderful.
I was so excited a few months ago to find a brown table cloth on major sale at Target. I knew it would be a great foundation for this table scape. Once again we used wrapping paper as runner down the center of the table, and I was just thrilled to find this cute paper to match our polka dot theme. We dressed this shower up a bit, so I pulled out the china and crystal. So much fun to use the good stuff.
D made her famous sugar cookies in the shape of little baby shirts with polka dots. I had to hide one of these for my husband, and I was glad I did. They are so yummy there was not one left.
Our diaper cakes keep getting bigger and bigger! Can you believe the size of this thing?
The cake was so cute we almost hated to cut it, but I am so glad we did. I saved a piece for my husband, but I am ashamed to say, he only got one little bite out of it. This cake was just to good to waste on a hubby who does not love sweets.
N was given some lovely gifts and we had wonderful time. I look forward to meeting her little guy in the coming weeks. I hope to have some sweet new newborn photos here on the blog soon!11:36 AM
