Fun Friday Photos 8.14.09 | Raccoons joined us for DinnerAugust 14, 2009Last week we spent time in the Tennessee Mountains with my Hubby's family. It was a great opportunity to meet relatives that we had never met and to spend time with those we already know and love. With family spread out from East Coast to West Coast and several places in between it was really a special treat to have everyone one in one place for a few days.
We stayed in a large cabin on the side of the mountain, I mean, really on the side of the mountain, as in 120 foot drop if you fell off the porch! The scenery was breathtaking and we certainly came to understand why they are called the Smokey Mountains.
On our first night in the cabin we were joined by the most unusual guest. He climbed right onto the back porch and shoved his little hand under the back door.
Get the feeling he has done this before? (Yes, we were terrible and gave him a cracker... only one, but it kept him hanging out for quite a while.)
The younger kids were enthralled as they watched him reach inside to beg for more. Alas, he was denied as we did not want to create a long term situation for the rest of the week. He chose to go elsewhere for the rest of his meals.
The view really was spectacular, and I took this the first morning we were there. (Thanks Sean for setting your coffee cup down in just the right spot.)
This is one of Hubby's cousins and his adorable son at breakfast one morning. I love early morning light, but being a night owl I rarely get to capture it.
One day we took the entire group to the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinberg, we all had a great time. One of my favorite parts was a giant tunnel that snaked under the aquarium tank and had a people mover. It was really fun to look up and see sharks and fish swimming above your head. Here Hubby, Princess and Uncle Mike are enjoying the view.
We had a great trip, and are trying to get back into the swing of things. A few orders came in while I was away so, I will be contacting those of you who ordered canvases during our canvas sale, as well as those of you whose print orders arrived while we were gone. I can't wait for you to see how great they all look!
I will post a few more photos later in the weekend, but I am back to the mountain of laundry to wash, what a shame this mountain does not have the view we enjoyed last week!
