S'more Fun and some Sweet PhotosDecember 14, 2010My Holiday Kitchen is in full swing. The aroma of chocolate melting in the double boiler fills the air. Add that aroma to the scent of cinnamon goodness in the form of a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven and you have a combination even Mrs. Clause would be jealous of.
In an effort to streamline things this year, my list of Holiday creations is not nearly as long, but just as tasty as ever. The Princess is in Mother's day out, pre-K, playgroup and dance lessons, so I needed something quick and easy to "whip up" for her to share with her friends. I found the cutest idea for s'mores on a stick this summer, and for the life of me I can't find the blog link, so I decided to share the process with you here.
These are so simple and tasty you may choose these instead of a cookie for this years cookie exchange. I've even made sharing the recipe simple, so read all the way down for your little treat from me.
First you open a box of graham crackers, and take one package out. Crush the package into fine crumbs. You can have your children do this, or cheat as I did and use the food processor. Start melting your chocolate in a double boiler. While you are waiting for the chocolate to reach sweet melted goodness, you skewer each marshmallow with a lollipop stick.
Gently dip each marshmallow into the chocolate and tap off the excess. Then roll the marshmallow in the crushed graham cracker until all the chocolate is covered. Set aside to cool and allow the chocolate to harden.
See, what did I tell you? SUPER easy! Don't they look so cute?
Sticking with my theme of a simple holiday this year, I placed two s'mores in a small candy bag, tied it with ribbon and my beautiful daughter gets to hand them out to all of her friends.
I love how my Santa china seems to be telling you, "Shh, don't tell anyone how easy these are!"
I am sure you are wondering how I could possibly make this any easier for you. How about if I created a cute little 4x6 card you can send to your favorite photo printer and have ready to hand out to everyone at your cookie exchange? Well, my dear readers, that is exactly what I have here:
Normally, all the images on my blog are protected, but today you have my permission to click on the image above, save the file, and send it right off to Sam's club, Walgreens or wherever. Easy peasy don't you think?
I like this idea so much, keep checking back I'm working on a few more of these recipe cards to share with you. Not to mention the cute little reindeer cupcakes I made for our Playgroup Christmas party today. Can't wait to share those with you.
(Just a quick little add on... These are even better the next day when warmed in the microwave for a few moments!)
Also... if you like the cute digital paper on my card you can get some really cute papers at
