Fun Friday Photos | Dallas Bluebonnet photosApril 14, 2011This weekend I had a fun little mini session with my daughter's best friend, and following the session my husband brought my daughter and son to the same field. I had hoped to capture some photos of my own children, but alas.... my son was not really in the mood.
Don't you just love the pacifier in his mouth? Sometimes I have to turn off the photographer, and just be a mom taking some fun snapshots of my own children. Well, he was really not into photos this particular evening....
Don't you just love his expression as he left my cute little tea party set up? Here he is just moments later when I would not let him sit in my lap.
My Mom will hate that photo of him, but to me it is so true to where we are in our lives right now. He is teething again, fussy and going down to one nap a day. So unfortunately we see a good bit of this facial expression. Yes, he can be a smiley and sweet fellow too, but this particular session did not capture that side of him. I did stop taking photos of his sister and her best friend, so he could sit in my lap for a little while. Even as cranky as he has been lately, it is nice that he still wants to sit in my lap and for me to hold him. I know that will not last much longer and I relish the physical closeness his need to be near me brings. In a few moments he was over being cuddled and off to find an adventure. My husband followed him around for a little while so I could capture a few more photos of the girls.
They were adorable as they asked one another, "Do you care for a spot of tea?" in their best British accents.
They took turns "pouring" the tea, and getting up and down to check out all of the flowers.
Even with a fussy little boy, I counted our little photo session a success. Years from now these will still be some of my favorite photos, and how could they not be?
Hope you have a great weekend.10:24 PM
