Valentine's PartyFebruary 03, 2009Today was the Valentine's Day Party for Princess' playgroup. We had it early as one of our members will be welcoming her second child on Thursday.
We were the location, but Momma C was the hostess. Yesterday two of the girls came over and we decorated the house with streamers made of hearts, love banners, lace hearts and sparkle hearts. I can honestly say our house is filled with LOVE! (even more than normal and that is saying a lot.)
This is the table. Somehow I missed getting a photo once everything was out. To this we added heart shaped pancakes and very yummy petit fours made by D, (I got the Link from her, so give these a try as they were really easy and very, very good.) I came across a magazine article a few weeks ago, that mentioned using wrapping paper as a table runner. So we gave it a try and I am really pleased with the result.
The heart cookies were also made by D, and we all swear they are addictive. I think she could end all wars forever if we could just get these cookies to everyone in the world. People would be to busy gorging themselves on cookies to do anything else. Seriously, those cookies are AMAZING. Maybe one one day I will have a link on this blog to her cookie business. (Hint, Hint D!)
Here is the Princess enjoying another one of D's marvelous confections. These were O's gifts to all the playgroup, rice crispy treats on lollipop sticks and dipped in white chocolate. They were quite the hit as you can see!
K loved hers too. I think the white chocolate smudge on her head is so darling.
Once O handed out these treats, the house became strangely quiet. Wonder why? I guess it is hard to talk when they all have treats to eat. I still adore these great big eyes of C's.
A was too busy munching to give me one of her trademark smiles.
Here is O in between bites of her own treat and holding her Valentine from the Princess. Don't you just love the apron D made for her? Where does D find the time to make cookies, confections AND aprons....
Trying to settle six toddlers stuffed with sugar is no small feat. Here is my best shot....
The weather was so lovely we had to grab a few shots outside.
OK, just one more of the cute Miss O.
All the kids had a ball and so did we. Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day!
