Travel and Tummy TroublesApril 14, 2009What a whirlwind weekend! We have driven over 24 hours in the last few days as we drove through four states and stayed in three different cites. It is amazing what we do for our family and kiddos. We briefly visited the Hubby's mom and brother and then spent two days with my family for Easter. I am sure you are expecting fantastic beach photos... well, I played Mom more than photographer this weekend. I hope my Mom and Sister-in-law took some cute ones.
We stopped in Jackson, MS and stayed the night with Hubby's family. The Princess adores her cousin and was able to spend some time with him. She was so excited. Granny took them to the Natural Science Museum and they had a great time looking at the fishes in the aquariums.
This was the first visit to the beach for the Princess! Water was such a HUGE part of my childhood, and I was glad to be able to share that part of my family with my girl. We were worried she might not like it. Her Uncle C was thrilled that she took right to boating and sea water. We had a hard time getting her off the pontoon boat as she wanted to stay forever!
The moment we arrived at the beach house she was thrilled to play in the sand. She did not even want to change clothes, she just had a ball running around and playing in the sand.
The sand was pristine and she busied herself making sure her footprints and hand prints were everywhere.
Saturday was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and perfect for getting out on the water. I was to protective of my camera, and it stayed safe and sound at the house. I did snap a few photos that morning as Princess played with her "cousins". My brother has three Great Danes. Here is the Princess with her cousin Brody and his son Buddy in the background.
These beautiful babies garner a ton of attention everywhere they go. I was amazed as people snapped photos of these gorgeous dogs. Here is my niece Bailey being taunted by her Buddy. He loves to play with mommy.
We could not have asked for a better day. Princess said she wanted to stay at the beach forever. Mommy would be glad to oblige, if only Hubby's job would allow!
Saturday night Hubby developed a bad case of what we thought was food poisoning. He was in terrible shape and we did not leave Orange Beach until much later than we had planned Easter day. We stopped off again in Jackson that night and tried to get a good nights rest. Then headed home Monday morning. Fifteen minutes from home Princess got sick in the car. So glad she waited until we were almost home. I could not have taken a 6 hour car ride with that smell.
So today we have spent at home, resting and recuperating. Hopefully in a day or so we will be back to normal. I am looking forward to several photo shoots in the coming weeks. I also have two contests coming up. Keep checking back so you can see how to win some fun stuff!
Hope you all had a great Easter.
